Carol Ann Duffer

The word pretentious is massively misused; I dislike it for that very reason. Whenever I hear it I have the same image of a soldered face with a loose frown carved out of it enter my brain. I like the word Echelon; I envisage a formation of hexagons whenever I hear it. So next time you want to criticize that band you discovered for making their second record more mainstream, restructure it; ‘an echelon of tedious ideas together for the wrong reasons’ will do. Cheers for making me think of six-sided shapes and saving that dilemma.

Recommendation? The First and Third Rush Hour movies. Why? Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are the perfect interracial couple.

We announced the release date for the EP, the 5th of December. A more pressing issue is our show in Camden on Wednesday (17th November) at the Purple Turtle. Remember, ‘Grey Horse, Purple Turtle’. Is it only me that thinks animal titles are very popular in modern music? Grey Horse, Wolf Parade, Grizzly Bear, Frog Eyes, Neil Diamond, Deerhunter; keep an eye on that, it might be important. Anyway, here is our set list from the other night and ways you can catch up with each bountiful babe of a ditty.

Set List:

Two Years Too Late
Johnny Edson (The Saltway EP, BBC Introducing)
Stretching
Waste Of Air (The Saltway EP, BBC Introducing)

Forewords (Last FM)

Smiles Free (The Saltway EP, BBC Introducing)
Tug Of Warcraft (Live video, www.mygreyhorse.co.uk, The Saltway EP)
Aberdovey (Video, www.mygreyhorse.co.uk)

You’ll Never Learn (Video, www.mygreyhorse.co.uk, amazingtunes)

The word ‘nice’ is also overused. Save our language, don’t mate or breed with anybody who speaks blandly or incorrectly.

Wednesday night.
